The "Wolgok~Pangyo Double-Track Railway Section 9 Subgrade Construction and Other Works" contracted by Kumho Construction is a part of the "Wolgok~Pangyo Subgrade Construction" connecting Wolgok-dong, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, and Pangyo-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si.

The "Wolgok~Pangyo Subgrade Construction" is a large-scale railway project with a total budget of 1.6689 trillion KRW, attracting attention from the bidding stage. In the bidding held last October for a total of seven sections (Sections 2~5, 7~10), 25 major construction companies, including Kumho Construction, participated in all sections.

Section 9 is a railway construction connecting Bisan-dong, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, and the Bundang-gu area of Seongnam-si, with a total construction cost of 272 billion KRW, and Kumho Construction holds an 80% stake. The total length of Section 9 is 5.704 km, and the entire section will be constructed as an underground tunnel. The underground tunnel includes one station and two mainline ventilation shafts. The construction period is expected to take 60 months from the start date.

Upon completion of this project, the relatively insufficient railway network in the southwestern metropolitan area will be expanded. Additionally, when connected with the Suin Line, Sosa~Wonsi Line, Shinansan Line, and Gyeonggang Line, an east-west trunk railway network will be established, which is expected to alleviate traffic congestion.

Kumho Construction is currently constructing two urban railway projects: the "Dobongsan~Okjeong Metropolitan Railway Section 1" and the "Seoul Metro Line 7 Cheongna International City Extension Section 1."

A Kumho Construction official stated, "Although the issuance of civil engineering projects is gradually decreasing, Kumho Construction continues to achieve steady orders in public projects based on its technology and experience. Next year, we will actively participate in large-scale railway projects ordered by the Korea Rail Network Authority to steadily increase our order backlog."
