However, he predicted that even if Minister Han becomes the emergency committee chairman, the political space would not be adequate. He said, "Having experienced both major parties, the emergency committee chairman of the ruling party has no room to act," and "Because the president is above, there is no space to do whatever one wants."

Regarding the time when Park Geun-hye was the emergency committee chairman in 2012 and the ruling party chairman could do many things, he said, "That was because at that time, the emergency committee could be led freely without any separate courting of President Lee Myung-bak." He added, "At that time, President Lee Myung-bak had little time left in his term and seemed to have no intention to interfere with what the emergency committee chairman was doing."
