Tourism Organization Forms 'Internal Control Committee' to Strengthen Autonomous Oversight

Establishing a Proactive Three-Line Defense System by Institutions

The Korea Tourism Organization will establish an Internal Control Working Committee as a practical task force to strengthen its proactive internal control system.

The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 20th that it resolved this at the 1st Internal Control Committee meeting held the previous day.

The organization is promoting comprehensive major innovation activities as a key driver to achieve its management goals. As part of this, it has restructured its internal control system this year to focus on preventive functions rather than the previous method that concentrated on post-crisis control.

The Internal Control Committee, chaired by President Kim Jang-sil, consists of seven members including the head of the Management Innovation Headquarters, heads of key control departments, and external members. It serves as the highest decision-making body related to internal control, deliberating and resolving major internal control policies.

At the 1st committee meeting, it was resolved to form the Internal Control Working Committee, a practical task force for internal control. The meeting also shared the results of this year's initiatives according to the comprehensive internal control plan and discussed directions for improvement.

President Kim Jang-sil also adopted a joint declaration to strengthen internal control with Standing Auditor Kim Young-chang. The declaration includes a commitment to joint efforts to ensure the organization's sustainable growth by establishing a risk prevention system and a practical organizational culture.

Kim Jang-sil, President of the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Efforts from all employees are necessary to activate the organization's three lines of defense internal control system. Based on the internal control system, we will enhance the organization's stability and credibility by adding transparency and fairness to all decision-making and processes."
