The Academic Information Department of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) announced on the 19th that it held the award ceremony for the ‘2023 14th DIT Reading Reflection Contest’ on the 7th.
Participants are taking a commemorative photo at the award ceremony of the 14th Reading Reflection Contest at Dong-Eui Science University.
This contest was planned to encourage students to read and to improve their humanities writing skills and literacy. The grand prize books were six university-selected titles: Harbin (by Kim Hoon), Everything Starts from the Basics (by Son Woong-jung), The Density of Conversation (by Ryu Jae-eon), The Great Gatsby (by F. Scott Fitzgerald), The Power of Tiny Habits (by James Clear), and The Secret of Pain (by Monty Lyman).
The Academic Information Department accepted submissions from November 1 to November 21, receiving a total of 170 reading reflections. After rigorous evaluation, 27 works were selected as final awardees. All winners received certificates along with a monetary prize.
At the award ceremony, Park Hye-ji from the Department of Nursing, who read The Secret of Pain and organized her thoughts and feelings coherently, received the grand prize, the Seokdang Award. Other winners included: ▲ Hwangryeong Award recipients Kim Jong-in from the Department of Electric Vehicles and two others ▲ Mirae Award recipients Moon Hyo-jung from the Department of Health Convergence Welfare and three others ▲ Changjo Award recipients Park Geon-young from the Department of Radiology and six others ▲ Tamgu Award recipients Lee Min-gyu from the Department of Chemical Engineering and eleven others.
Park Hye-ji, the Seokdang Award winner, said, “I was happy to encounter good books and develop my writing skills through the reading reflection contest,” adding, “I hope everyone becomes a professional who exerts positive influence through reading.”
The Academic Information Department of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology implements various reading programs to strengthen students’ reading capabilities, including the Ontact Academic Electronic Information Expo, selection of excellent library users, and DIT library events utilizing metaverse platforms.
