Investment Firms Including Mirae Science and Technology Holdings Attend on the Morning of the 19th
UNIST (President Yong-Hoon Lee) held a joint performance presentation for its laboratory-based startup program on the 19th.
The event was organized to introduce promising technologies supported by the UNIST-led startup incubation program and to expand opportunities for investment attraction.
At the venue, exhibition booths showcasing startup technologies from a total of 64 teams participating in four projects were set up.
These teams are involved in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s ‘Laboratory Specialized Startup Leading University Development Project,’ ‘Public Technology-Based Market-Linked Startup Exploration Support Project,’ and the ‘Ulsan Ulju Small Research and Development Special Zone Project.’
Three teams supported by Ulsan City’s ‘Bio-Digital Healthcare Industry Global Support’ also participated in the event. The Bio-Digital Healthcare Industry Global Support Project is a program initiated by Ulsan City this year to assist promising bio companies in Ulsan in entering the U.S. market.
Additionally, there was a session for investment consultations between pre-registered startup teams and domestic investors. Investors and angel investors from Dolphin Angel Investment, Mirae Science and Technology Holdings, Innovillab, and Twoit Investment attended, showing interest in the promising technologies of the startup teams.
Among the teams participating in each project this year, outstanding promising startup teams had the opportunity to directly introduce their technology items and achievements in front of investors.
Seven companies, including SelfFish, SecondCloset, NovusCure, PowerWeave, AgingLab Co., Ltd., Magnetic Materials Research Lab, and SB Solution Co., Ltd., presented various startup technologies ranging from modular smart IoT aquariums to radioactive waste recovery materials and apnea sleep measurement devices.
Assemblyman Beom-Soo Seo, representing the Ulju district, attended the event, gave a special lecture to young people, and spent time with young entrepreneurs.
Kwonsun Yong, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation who oversaw the event, said, “We will actively discover and nurture startup technologies into companies so that good research outcomes are not wasted but lead to technology startups, injecting new growth engines into the Yeongnam region’s industry, which is struggling with the manufacturing crisis.”
