Leferi Hosts Successful 'Beauty YouTube Big Data Insights' Seminar

On December 15th, the YouTube Big Data Insight Seminar “THE BEAUTY INSIGHT,” hosted by Leferi, was held as a side program of the ‘5th Korea YouTuber’s Awards 2023 Pop-up Exhibition’ in Garosugil, Sinsa-dong, Seoul. The event was successfully conducted for about three hours with the attendance of over 100 beauty industry professionals.

This seminar involved a comprehensive survey of videos from 1,381 beauty creators active on the YouTube platform over the past year, collected through Leferi’s corporate research institute. They tracked over 210,000 instances of voluntary cosmetic product recommendations. Based on this data, various beauty trends and creator marketing insights were derived and presented to the attendees, drawing significant interest from beauty industry stakeholders who consider creator marketing essential.

Leferi’s founder and chairman, Inseok Choi, was the first speaker, analyzing the ‘2023 Beauty Trends Based on Proprietary Big Data.’ Jeongeun Park, Partnership Manager, presented an analysis of the commonalities and characteristics of brands that ranked highest and won the Korea YouTuber’s Awards 2023 based on the data. Ji-eun Lee, Partnership Director, and Ye-jin Han, Recommend Service Director, held sessions on ‘Strategic Directions for Creator Marketing in 2024 Based on Analysis Results’ and ‘Insights Based on Internal Data Analysis of the Creator Relationship Service “Recommend,”’ respectively.

Additionally, in a bonus session requested by attendees, Chanmi Jeon, leader of Leferi Live Commerce, analyzed recent successful cases where tens of thousands of products were sold per session in live commerce and discussed the direction of innovation in live commerce for 2024, attracting great interest from the audience.

Inseok Choi, chairman of Leferi who conducted the seminar, stated, “We have invested in YouTube big data since 2017 by establishing a corporate research institute, not merely to ride the wave of the creator economy era but to lead the market and contribute to the beauty industry by investing many resources to build the ecosystem together.” He added, “We will continue to hold regular public seminars by linking insights based on this data with know-how and achievements from over 1,000 annual brand collaborations with Leferi, thereby helping to raise the overall level of the beauty industry.”

Meanwhile, the 5th Korea YouTuber’s Awards 2023, where this seminar was held, is also an annual event hosted by Leferi. It has established itself as a prestigious award in the beauty industry, recognizing brands and products with the highest voluntary recommendations in each category based on proprietary big data. Notably, this year’s event was the first held since the pandemic, featuring a 500-pyeong (approximately 1,650 square meters) exhibition hall in Garosugil, hosting award ceremonies, seminars, large-scale fan meetings, and open studio live commerce programs for viewers. It is striving to develop into Korea’s representative beauty convention, drawing much attention for its future prospects.
