As the People Power Party transitioned to a provisional leadership system following the resignation of Representative Kim Ki-hyun, internal debates have arisen over whether to appoint Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon as the provisional leader. In this context, People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Sang-beom conveyed the party's atmosphere, stating, "A significant number agreed on serving Minister Han."

On the 19th, Yoo said on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' "There was a strong demand for someone who could respond to change and innovation while leading the imminent general election as the face of the party. The opinion that that person is Minister Han was strong," he said.

The People Power Party held a joint meeting of lawmakers and party district chiefs at the National Assembly the previous day to discuss the provisional leadership, but no consensus was reached. While many voices support appointing Minister Han, concerns were also raised about his lack of political experience and the perception that he might be seen as 'President Yoon Seok-yeol's avatar.'

Yoo stated, "A considerable number said, 'While Han Dong-hoon as provisional leader is acceptable, given his lack of political experience, if he gets hurt while performing the duties, it could be a loss for the party.' There were also arguments that it might be better to have him serve as the election campaign leader," he conveyed.

The People Power Party is expected to decide on the provisional leader within this week. Yoo said, "It was not the stage to make a decision yesterday; the floor leader was listening to overall opinions," adding, "no specific date was set, but since it is not an issue to be prolonged, if possible, they would try to decide within this week."

Minister Han abruptly canceled his external schedule the previous day, leading to speculation that he might be contemplating his position. Yoo predicted, "If internal opinions are somewhat settled, personally, I think there is a possibility he will accept the request to become provisional leader," expressing his expectation that Minister Han will accept the provisional leadership position.
