Orion Launches 'Hot Goraebab Spicy Seasoned Flavor'

Orion announced on the 19th that it will launch a new product, ‘Hot Goraebab Spicy Seasoned Flavor’.

Hot Goraebab Spicy Seasoned Flavor is a product coated with a spicy and sweet seasoning that combines the clean spiciness of gochujang and the savory taste of fish cake on Wang Goraebab. It features multiple layers of thin dough baked in an oven to maximize its unique crispy texture.

Orion launched Hot Goraebab based on the recent spicy snack trend in the food industry and the increasing number of consumers enjoying Wang Goraebab, known for its rich seasoning, as a snack with beer and other drinks. An Orion representative said, “The 20s and 30s generations, who enjoyed Goraebab as children, now enjoy Wang Goraebab as a beer snack, making it a snack that spans all generations. We will continue to introduce new products with various flavors and textures tailored to different target preferences to maintain the steady popularity of Goraebab.”

Goraebab, launched in 1984, is a representative fun concept snack that is “eaten for fun and taste.” It has become a beloved national snack by providing various enjoyable experiences using characters. In 2007, Orion expanded its consumer base by introducing Wang Goraebab Stir-fried Seasoned Flavor, which increased the size by about 3 to 4 times compared to the original Goraebab to enhance the rich texture. The lineup has now been expanded further with Hot Goraebab Spicy Seasoned Flavor, broadening consumer choices.
