The Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byeong-il) announced on the 18th that it is accepting applications for residents of the 2024 academic year startup dormitories in five regions: Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon.
Eligibility requires applicants to be Korean nationals who are currently enrolled or on leave at universities (graduate schools) located in Korea, and who are interested in startups or have already started a business.
The number of residents to be recruited is 53 in Seoul, 46 in Busan, 36 in Daegu, 32 in Gwangju, and 28 in Daejeon, totaling 195 across the five regions. The application period is from the 18th until 6 p.m. on January 11 of next year, and applications can be submitted through the Korea Student Aid Foundation website.
After the application deadline, applicants will undergo document screening and face-to-face interviews, with move-in scheduled for February next year. The Korea Student Aid Foundation startup dormitory project supports university (graduate) students interested in startups by providing both housing and startup support so they can focus solely on their entrepreneurial activities.
The residency period is one year, from February next year to January 2025, during which residents can use various spaces such as housing, office space, kitchen, and community lounge free of charge for their startup activities. In addition to the startup spaces, residents can also receive free support through various startup support programs, including startup consulting programs linked with experts, startup lectures, and networking activities for entrepreneurs.
