A graffiti vandalism incident occurred on the wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the police are tracking the suspect.

According to Jongno Police Station on the 16th, a report was received around 2:20 a.m. that the west wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, near the National Palace Museum, had been spray-painted. Large red and blue spray-painted phrases reading "Yeonghwa Gongjja" (meaning "Free Movies") and other repeated phrases reminiscent of illegal video sharing sites were found.

The police are tracking the suspect based on nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and are reviewing whether charges under the Cultural Heritage Protection Act can be applied.
