Game developer Shift Up celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 15th by providing approximately 300 employees with credit cards loaded with 10 million KRW and presenting gold bars to employees with 10 years of long-term service.
A Shift Up representative explained, "This special bonus was given as a reward and encouragement to all employees who have grown together with the company." The representative added, "It reflects the philosophy of sharing the company's growth fruits with the employees."
Earlier this year, following the global success of "Goddess of Victory: NIKKE," Shift Up also gave all employees a new iPhone worth about 2 million KRW and 5 million KRW in cash. The success of "Goddess of Victory: NIKKE" was a key factor behind the employee rewards. The subculture game NIKKE, released in November last year, topped sales charts in Korea's two major markets, as well as ranking first in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and third in North America, achieving global success.
Last month, Shift Up signed a distribution contract with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) for their new title "Stella Blade" on PlayStation™5 (PS5™). Stella Blade is a triple-A console game expected to be released next year. Shift Up is also pursuing an initial public offering (IPO).
