Nuclear Power Company CEO, Over 60 Participants Including Industry, Academia, and Research Experts Gather to Explore Promotion and Development Plans
Restoring the Nuclear Industry Ecosystem, Responding to Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning Industr
On the 14th at 11 a.m., Busan City held the 'Seminar on Establishing a Foundation for the Nuclear Power Industry Development' at the Busan City Hotel Conference Hall.
This seminar was organized to share policy directions for the nuclear power industry and to explore ways to foster and develop nuclear power companies in Busan under the theme of 'Establishing a Foundation for Nuclear Power Industry Development' with experts from industry, academia, and research in the nuclear power sector.
About 60 participants attended, including experts from related nuclear power organizations and institutions such as the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, Busan Technopark, Korea Nuclear Power Export Industry Association, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, as well as professors from local universities like Pusan National University and Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and representatives from local nuclear power companies.
The seminar proceeded with ▲ an introduction to Busan City's support projects for the nuclear (nuclear power plant decommissioning) industry ▲ keynote presentations by experts from industry, academia, and research in the nuclear power sector ▲ and discussions on ways to foster and develop local nuclear power companies to establish a foundation for the nuclear power industry.
During the expert presentations, Kim Young-won, Deputy General Manager at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, presented on 'Qualified Registration Guidance'; Kim Chang-gyu, Senior Manager at Doosan Enerbility, spoke on 'Prospects for the Large-scale Waste Decommissioning Industry and Local Company Participation Plans'; and Kim Ji-hye, Assistant Manager at the Korea Nuclear Power Export Industry Association, presented on 'Global Nuclear Power Market Outlook and Nuclear Company Support Projects.'
Additionally, prior to the event, an awards ceremony was held to honor contributors to the development of the nuclear power plant decommissioning industry in the Busan region this year.
Kang Hye-young, Director of the Nuclear Safety Division, stated, “Through this seminar, we were able to have in-depth discussions with relevant experts on ways to foster and develop Busan’s nuclear power companies. Through this, we will actively respond to restoring the nuclear power industry ecosystem and advancing the nuclear power plant decommissioning industry, and establish a foundation for the development of Busan’s nuclear power industry.”
