"First Asian Refinery in the Oil & Gas Sector"

S-OIL has been selected as a DJSI World company for 14 consecutive years since 2010 in this year's Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) evaluation.

S-OIL is the first and only refining company in both Korea and the Asian region to be selected as a DJSI World company for 14 consecutive years.

S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al Hejazi) explained, "Based on global-level management transparency, we have been recognized for exemplary ESG management performance by faithfully reflecting stakeholders' expectations in our management activities in harmony with society, leading to our selection as a DJSI World company for 14 consecutive years."

A company official stated, "To achieve our vision of becoming an eco-friendly energy chemical company with the highest competitiveness and creativity, we will continue to strengthen sustainable management by successfully pursuing our strategic goals of top profitability, eco-friendly growth, best operational efficiency, expansion of petrochemical proportion, and enhancement of safety."

S-OIL has established a long-term roadmap for each ESG sector, derived key tasks, and is systematically promoting them to expand sustainable management.

Since 2021, an ESG Promotion Committee composed of top management and executives has been operating to focus on deliberating and reviewing core ESG management tasks.

Additionally, since 2023, an ESG Committee has been established under the Board of Directors to establish directions for the company's strategies and policies related to ESG matters and to review performance, thereby expanding ESG management.

DJSI is a globally authoritative evaluation index that measures sustainability by comprehensively assessing economic, social, and environmental aspects such as governance, supply chain management, environmental performance, and human resource development of over 2,500 global companies worldwide every year since 1999 by S&P Global, the world's largest financial information provider.

This index is widely used as a standard to evaluate corporate sustainability by comprehensively considering the economic and ESG performance of global companies.

In 2023, out of the top 2,544 companies by market capitalization worldwide, a total of 320 were included as World companies, among which only two refining companies, S-OIL and Neste Oil (Finland), were included.
