Yeosu City Selects Top 10 Administrative Achievements That Shined Yeosu in 2023

Survey Reflecting Citizens and Public Officials

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced the selection of the "Top 10 Administrative Achievements that Shined Yeosu in 2023," highlighting projects with high contributions to city administration and strong citizen satisfaction among this year's major initiatives.


This year's top 10 administrative achievements are ▲ Construction of public parking lots (towers) (2 locations) ▲ Signing of an agreement to operate Jeollanam-do's first "Yeosu City Public Midnight Children's Hospital" ▲ Securing a project budget of 28 billion KRW! Full-scale promotion of Yeosu Municipal Art Museum construction ▲ Detailed Yeosu-style integrated medical and care support for the elderly, even on islands ▲ Uninterrupted operation of the Expo Overpass ▲ Implementation of free bus service for seniors ▲ Selected as the best institution in Jeollanam-do's comprehensive local tax administration evaluation ▲ Nighttime operation of passenger ships to Geumo Island ▲ Operation of a smart streetlight system leading revolutionary energy savings and carbon neutrality ▲ Opening the era of aerial delivery to Yeosu's island areas using drones.

This selection was made based on the first round of written evaluations by the city administration evaluation committee composed of local officials and citizens, followed by a second round of surveys conducted among citizens and public officials.


Notably, 970 citizens and 1,106 public officials participated in the survey. To give greater weight to the citizens' survey results, only 50% of the votes from public officials were counted and reflected.


Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong expressed, "I thank all public officials who worked hard and achieved results for the citizens throughout this year. Next year, we will do our best to operate the city administration solidly so that the various projects promised to citizens to create a 'Happy Yeosu for Citizens' can bear fruit."


Meanwhile, projects that were candidates for the top 10 include the official operation of the urban water park children's splash pad, selection for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's K-Tourism Island Development Project, and the establishment of the Yeosu Industrial Complex Digital Environment and Safety Integrated Control Center.
