Boseong Shines with Selection of 'Top 10 Policies of the Year'

Selected as Grade 1 in Nationwide Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation Hosted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission

On the 14th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced the final selection of the ‘Top 10 Policies that Shined Boseong in 2023.’


The ‘Top 10 Policies of the Year’ were selected from 22 representative policies recommended by each department among excellent policies and achievements promoted throughout 2023. The selection was made through a preference survey of over 800 employees and evaluations by department heads and an external evaluation panel.

As a result, the best policy that shined Boseong-gun in 2023 was finally selected as the Planning and Budget Office’s “Grade 1 Comprehensive Integrity Rating by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.”


This is interpreted as giving great significance to being recognized as the top integrity institution by receiving consistently high scores in all areas, including internal and external integrity, in the 2023 Public Institution Integrity Evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission targeting 569 administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions nationwide.


Boseong-gun’s comprehensive integrity rating was Grade 4 in 2018, but after the launch of the 7th local government administration, it improved to Grade 3 in 2019, Grade 2 in 2020, ranked first in Jeollanam-do in 2021, and this year, with the full start of the 8th local government administration, it achieved Grade 1 comprehensive integrity rating, the only one in Honam.


Other selected top 10 excellent policies include ▲Selection for the Beolgyo Bongnim Flood and Wind Damage Living Area Comprehensive Maintenance Project, ▲Securing 40.7 billion KRW for the 2024 Old Water Supply Maintenance Project, ▲Promotion of the 2023 Boseong World Tea Expo, ▲Promotion of a 30 billion KRW New Vitality Enhancement Project to create a premium beach park, ▲Expansion of military tax revenue by more than 1.2 billion KRW annually for five consecutive years through Oncas operation, ▲Recruitment campaign for Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters ranked first in the province and securing 200 million KRW in prize money, ▲Hosting the Boseong Dalmo Meeting, ▲Establishment of the Boseong County Gugak Orchestra, and ▲Signing a business agreement between Boseong-gun and the Philippines for the dispatch of foreign seasonal workers.


Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “Over the past year, through communication and collaboration, various excellent projects that meet the policy demands of residents were selected as the Top 10 Policies of the Year,” adding, “We will continue to actively discover projects that residents can feel and realize open governance to create a hopeful Boseong full of dreams and happiness.”


Meanwhile, the ‘Top 10 Policies of the Year’ has been held annually since 2017 to share representative achievements that shined Boseong both internally and externally.
