NCSoft announced on the 14th that it has been included in the 2023 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Asia Pacific index, becoming the first domestic game company to be listed.
DJSI is a global sustainability management evaluation index published annually by S&P Dow Jones Indices, the world's largest financial information provider, and S&P Global, a global sustainability management evaluation organization, assessing companies' ESG performance.
Following its inclusion in the DJSI Korea index as the first domestic game company in 2022, this year NCSoft was included in the higher-tier DJSI Asia Pacific index. The DJSI Asia Pacific index is awarded to the top 20% of companies in ESG management among 600 companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
NCSoft received excellent evaluations within its industry in areas such as personal information protection and information security, human resource development, and environmental data disclosure. Compared to last year, its scores improved in areas such as climate change response and materiality assessment.
In addition to being included in the DJSI index, NCSoft has continuously been recognized for outstanding performance in domestic and international ESG evaluations. It received an AA rating in the 2023 Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG evaluation for the second consecutive year. It also achieved a comprehensive A rating for three consecutive years in the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) ESG evaluation. These are the highest ratings among domestic game companies.
Myungjin Park, NCSoft’s Senior Brand Officer (PBO), said, "We believe that our sincere efforts to implement ESG management have been positively evaluated. Going forward, we will continue to identify and carry out ESG tasks from a mid- to long-term perspective to sustain continuous ESG management performance."
