U+ Mobile Customers Raising Children Under 24 Months
Can Use Additional 5GB After Application
LG Uplus announced on the 14th that it will provide an additional 5GB of data each month to households with young children to reduce the burden of household communication expenses. Customers whose children are under 24 months old and who use LG Uplus U+ Mobile (LTE/5G) plans can apply for the 5GB data benefit. In addition to the data allowance of the existing plan, 5GB will be additionally provided every month from the month of application until the end of the month when the child turns 24 months old according to the documents. One parent per child of the eligible age can receive the benefit.
To apply, customers must visit a store or contact customer service or the website's 1:1 inquiry service and provide proof of parenthood with a family relation certificate or resident registration certificate. Even if not the biological parent, a legal guardian of a minor can also apply by providing proof of guardianship.
This benefit is part of LG Uplus’s ‘Nationwide Life Cycle Plans’ announced last April. This year, LG Uplus has launched four new mid-tier 5G plans, two 5G direct mid-tier plans, thirteen youth plans, nine youth direct plans, and three senior plans, as well as introduced ‘Nerget,’ a hyper-personalized plan that allows customers to select data in 1GB units.
Lee Jae-won, Executive Vice President and Head of the MX Innovation Group at LG Uplus, said, “Through the additional 5GB data support for childcare, we hope to be a reliable partner in customers’ daily lives from the moment their child is born until they grow up,” adding, “LG Uplus will continue to introduce various products and services that provide practical relief for household communication expenses while enhancing new customer experiences.”
