Hyundai Mobis announced on the 14th that its social contribution activity, the Transparent Umbrella Sharing Campaign, received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the 2023 Safety Culture Awards. This award is given to individuals or organizations that have contributed to raising awareness and spreading a culture of safety in daily life. Since 2010, the company has been conducting this campaign in collaboration with the Korea Child Safety Foundation and the Korea Road Traffic Authority. They have distributed over 100,000 transparent umbrellas through applications from elementary schools and individuals. As of this year, a total of 1.33 million umbrellas have been distributed, which is reported to have prevented about 30% of pedestrian accidents involving children. This year, the company newly developed a children's traffic safety experience education program to inform about safety accidents involving various modes of transportation, and also launched a traffic safety application utilizing advanced gaze recognition technology applied to automobiles.
