The Supreme Prosecutors' Office has launched an inspection into a chief prosecutor who made inappropriate remarks to a junior female prosecutor during a company dinner.

According to the legal community on the 13th, the Inspection Department of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office has begun an investigation into Chief Prosecutor A of the Criminal Division 4 at the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office for making derogatory remarks to a junior female prosecutor during a company dinner.

It is known that Chief Prosecutor A recently made comments related to the evaluation of the junior prosecutor at a departmental dinner. Upon learning of the incident, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office immediately separated Chief Prosecutor A from the victim and reassigned him as acting prosecutor at the Busan High Prosecutors' Office. The junior prosecutor was transferred to another department within the branch.

The Supreme Prosecutors' Office plans to further investigate whether Chief Prosecutor A's remarks constitute sexual harassment or sexist comments and will proceed with inspection and disciplinary procedures accordingly.
