GS Group announced on the 13th that it has donated 4 billion KRW in year-end neighbor love donations to the Community Chest of Korea.
Since 2005, GS has been donating year-end neighbor love funds to the Community Chest of Korea to help socially vulnerable groups, and the total amount donated to date reaches 72 billion KRW. The funds will be used to support neighbors who are economically more disadvantaged and marginalized.
Huh Tae-soo, Chairman of GS, emphasized corporate social responsibility, stating, "To become an excellent and sustainable company, it is essential not only to contribute to national economic development but also to practice various activities for social contribution and mutual growth based on fair and transparent management. For our society to become warmer and happier, the interest and participation of the entire society are necessary, and companies must take the lead in their social roles through sharing."
GS Caltex has been conducting year-end relay volunteer activities for marginalized neighbors, such as kimchi sharing, heating supplies, and daily necessities support, for 19 years since 2005. This year, about 250 employees from the Seoul headquarters, Yeosu plant, Daejeon technology research institute, Chungnam branch, Busan branch, and Incheon, Mokpo, and Jeju logistics centers are carrying out various volunteer activities including heating oil support, kimchi making, winter supplies support, and housing repairs for children from low-income families.
GS Construction continues its social contribution activities that consider neighbors and society. Since 2009, together with the Namchon Foundation, GS Construction employees and their families have been consistently participating in the "Love Kimchi Sharing Volunteer Activity" program.
A GS official stated, "As the year-end approaches, we will strive to ensure that neighbors in need do not lose their dreams and can create a bright future. Utilizing the capabilities and expertise of GS affiliates, we will continue social sharing activities so that marginalized neighbors can become self-reliant and hopeful, addressing not only environmental issues such as climate change but also social exclusion."
