It was understood that Mr. A only reported to 119, saying "my wife has a head injury," after his father arrived at the scene. Mr. A was arrested one and a half hours after the report, and it is known that his lawyer was also present beside him.

On that day, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in custody. According to the police, Mr. A is accused of assaulting his wife, Ms. B, during a marital dispute at an apartment in Sajik-dong, Jongno-gu, around 7:50 p.m. on the 3rd, resulting in her death. It is understood that Mr. A also used a blunt object during the crime.

At around 8:15 a.m. that day, when Mr. A came out of the Seongbuk Police Station detention center, he did not respond to reporters' questions such as "Do you admit to the charges?" and "Do you have anything to say to your children?"

The National Forensic Service gave a preliminary verbal opinion based on the autopsy results, stating that "death was caused by combined cervical compression asphyxia and hypovolemic shock."

Mr. A was affiliated with a major domestic law firm but resigned immediately after the incident occurred. Mr. A's father is known to be a former multi-term member of the National Assembly and a former prosecutor.
