Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced on the 12th that they have successfully attracted the '2026 IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Circuits and Systems,' the first of its kind in Korea.
The symposium is scheduled to take place over three days from October 11 to 13, 2026, at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. More than 350 experts from various countries will attend to present the latest technologies in diverse biomedical fields such as disease diagnosis and treatment, and wearable healthcare.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international association based in New York, USA, specializing in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, and information communications, with 350,000 members across over 150 countries.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with this symposium, the 'International System-on-Chip Semiconductor Design Symposium,' which gathers over 500 world-renowned scholars in semiconductor design, will also be held at Songdo Convensia during the same period.
An official from Incheon City stated, "This international symposium will bring global experts to visit Incheon," adding, "It is expected to contribute not only to the activation of the Songdo Bio Cluster, which holds the world's largest biopharmaceutical production capacity, but also to enhancing the brand of Incheon as a global MICE city."
