Following RM and V, all 7 BTS members fulfill military service obligations
"Hope to resume full group activities in 2025"
Group BTS members Jimin (28, Park Jimin) and Jungkook (26, Jeon Jungkook) will enlist in the army as active-duty soldiers on the 12th. With this, all seven members will have enlisted, entering a 'military hiatus' (military service + hiatus).
On this day, Jimin and Jungkook will enter a new recruit training center of an army division and begin their active-duty military service. The exact enlistment time and date have not been disclosed, and no enlistment ceremony will be held. Their expected discharge date is June 2025.
In this regard, their agency Big Hit Music has asked fans to refrain from visiting the training center.
The eldest member Jin (31, Kim Seokjin) was the first to enlist as an active-duty soldier in the army last December and is reported to have recently been promoted to sergeant. Following him, J-Hope (29, Jung Hoseok) enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army last April and is currently serving as an army instructor. Suga (30, Min Yoongi) enlisted last September, completed basic military training, and is serving as a social service agent. After RM (29, Kim Namjoon) and V (27, Kim Taehyung) enlisted the day before, Jimin and Jungkook are fulfilling their military duties, meaning all members are now serving in the military.
Jungkook said on Weverse Live the day before, "It has been a busy life, but thanks to that, I am leaving after happy activities," adding, "The military is a place that all men must go to." Jimin also said, "I think it will be a support to enlist together with Jungkook," and "I will do well and come back."
BTS explained that they have prepared various content to mark their 'military hiatus.' Announcing this, Jungkook said, "We have prepared a lot, so you can look forward to it."
BTS's full-group activities are expected to be possible only after all members are discharged in the summer of 2025. Big Hit Music stated, "We hope to resume BTS's full-group activities around 2025, but it is difficult to specify the exact timing at this point."
