Grocery Packages, Sharing Warm Kindness
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 8th that the Hwangjeon-myeon Majungmul Support Council (Chairman Jang Taek-hwan) shared warm neighborly love by distributing ‘food packages’ to help elderly people living alone have a warm winter.
This event was funded by a designated donation from the Community Chest of Korea, and about 20 members of the Majungmul Support Council personally purchased items to create packages and visited the homes of elderly residents who find it difficult to go out during winter to check on their well-being and share warmth.
Chairman Jang Taek-hwan said, “We are grateful to the sponsors who made designated donations for Hwangjeon-myeon, and we hope this food package support will be of some help to the elderly during the winter.” He added, “We will continue to carry out activities to look after and care for neighbors in need.”
Meanwhile, the Hwangjeon-myeon Majungmul Support Council donates their talents to housing environment improvement projects and, every winter, personally chops firewood to provide heating fuel. They actively seek out and provide customized welfare services wherever there are neighbors in need throughout Hwangjeon-myeon.
