Nonghyup Distribution Co., Ltd. Signs Business Agreement to Expand Distribution Network for Boseong Kiwi
On the 11th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that Boseong-gun and Nonghyup Distribution Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Young-ho) signed a win-win cooperation business agreement to expand the distribution network of Boseong Kiwi at Nonghyup Distribution headquarters in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.
At the business agreement ceremony, Governor Kim Cheol-woo, Nonghyup Distribution CEO Shin Young-ho, head of the Nonghyup Central Association Boseong branch, heads of four regional Nonghyup offices, representatives of six corporations of the Boseong Kiwi Agricultural Cooperative, director of the Nonghyup Jeonnam Headquarters Regional Union Business Group, members of the Jaekyung Boseong-gun Hometown Association, executive director of Nonghyup Distribution Business Headquarters, branch manager of Yangjae store, and other related staff attended together.

The two organizations agreed to sell Boseong Kiwi nationwide at Hanaro Mart and agreed to promote the entry of various agricultural specialty products from Boseong-gun and friendly exchange projects in the future.
To commemorate this business agreement ceremony, a 30% discount event on Boseong Kiwi will be held at Hanaro Mart Yangjae branch until the 13th.
Boseong-gun plans to improve the distribution system of Boseong Kiwi, which is currently centered on small-scale farmer groups, by utilizing the Hanaro Mart distribution channel, and to contribute to the actual increase of farmers' income and regional economic development by focusing on product standardization and specification.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo said at the business agreement ceremony, “We signed a business agreement with Nonghyup Distribution to widely promote the excellence of Boseong Kiwi, which was the first agricultural product to be registered for geographical indication nationwide in the kiwi category.” He added, “Starting with Boseong Kiwi, we plan to expand the product categories to various agricultural specialty products and continue diverse exchange and cooperation.”
Shin Young-ho, CEO of Nonghyup Distribution, said, “I am honored to sign a business agreement with Boseong-gun, the top kiwi production area in the country.” He added, “We will cooperate for mutual growth in various fields going forward.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is the largest production area accounting for about 22% of domestic kiwi production, and Boseong Kiwi was registered as the 111th geographical indication for agricultural products in Korea in November 2022, the first for the kiwi category.
