Aftermath of the grim general election outlook report predicting '6 seats in Seoul' for the Democratic Party

Kim Byung-min "Action Needed Before Promoting Gonggwanwi and Seondaewi"

The ruling People Power Party is experiencing heightened anxiety within its ranks as a party secretariat report revealed that it is expected to hold a lead in only 6 out of 49 constituencies in Seoul in next year's general election.

Some members of the leadership also pointed out the need for actions to restore trust, citing the party's failure to resolve innovation issues, including the early dissolution of the Inyohan Innovation Committee.

On the 8th, the People Power Party's secretariat released an analysis of the upcoming general election landscape. The analysis showed that the party is leading in only six areas in Seoul: Gangnam Gap, Eul, Byeong; Seocho Gap, Eul; and Songpa Eul.

In the 2020 21st general election, the United Future Party (the predecessor of the People Power Party) secured eight seats in Gangnam Gap, Eul, Byeong; Seocho Gap, Eul; Songpa Gap, Eul; and Yongsan, but the upcoming election is projected to yield fewer seats than that.

Supreme Council Member Kim Byung-min stated, "The party is engulfed in internal strife without resolving innovation issues, and if the early Public Official Recommendation Committee is launched without properly addressing these problems, will party members easily accept it?" He emphasized the need to devise countermeasures.
