Icheon-si Secures 37 Billion Won in National and Provincial Project Grants This Year

37 New Public Offerings Worth 33.6 Billion Won... Largest in 5 Years

On the 11th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has secured a total of 37 billion KRW through national and provincial government-funded public contest projects led by central government ministries and Gyeonggi Province this year.


According to the city, the public contest projects discovered and promoted this year amounted to 87 cases worth 86.6 billion KRW, of which 59 cases were selected, securing 37 billion KRW.

In particular, among the 59 selected cases, 37 were newly applied public contest projects this year, through which 33.6 billion KRW of national and provincial funds were secured. The city explained that this is the largest amount in the past five years.


The major projects for which the city secured budgets through public contests this year include ▲ Livestock Manure Treatment Support Project (11.76 billion KRW) ▲ Jeungpo-dong Sports Park Construction Project (6 billion KRW) ▲ Jungri District Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium Construction (3 billion KRW) ▲ Development of Digital Twin-based Future City Design Simulation (700 million KRW), among others.


Meanwhile, on the 8th, the city held the '2023 National and Provincial Government Funded Public Contest Project Promotion Status Final Report Meeting' at the city hall’s main conference room.


Lee Seong-ho, Deputy Mayor of Icheon City, urged, "Next year, please identify and promote projects that can elevate Icheon’s future and the dignity of Icheon citizens by thoroughly understanding government public contest project trends."
