Hana Securities analyzed on the 11th that there is a growing need for new technologies that assist medical staff and help diagnose patient conditions in medical settings, and therefore, attention should be paid to companies related to medical artificial intelligence (AI).
Kim Doohyun, a researcher at Hana Securities, attended the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2023) conference held in the United States from November 26 to 29. He said, "Due to population aging, the importance of Radiology for accurate diagnosis remains high, and related personnel are globally in short supply," adding, "There is an increasing demand for new technologies that assist medical staff and help diagnose patient conditions in medical settings."
According to Hana Securities, in the United States, the population aged 65 and over increased by about 34% from 2010 to 2020. However, personnel related to Diagnostic Radiology increased by only about 3%. Europe is also experiencing a shortage of personnel in related fields, the analysis showed.
He explained, "There is an increasing demand for new technologies that assist medical staff and help diagnose patient conditions in medical settings," and added, "Many new technologies were announced at the RSNA 2023 event." He continued, "The main trends at RSNA 2023 include AI, Photon-Counting CT, and 3D printing," emphasizing, "The most important point is simplifying and optimizing the workflow of on-site medical staff through AI technology."
He said, "In the past, domestic companies focused on parts and software for radiological medical devices, promoting growth in overseas sales by selling some parts or software of equipment to global companies," and added, "Due to supply chain restructuring, it is expected to be difficult to secure the entire global market share in China and Southeast Asia, so it is a time to pay attention to companies that have references for North America and Europe markets, which prioritize product quality and performance as well as price, or companies with high potential to enter these markets."
In particular, he predicted, "Since the main trend in recent industry developments is the application of AI, companies with competitive AI solutions will eventually be able to expand their business and secure profitability." Researcher Kim said, "The radiological medical device industry is a continuously growing industry, so continuous monitoring of related companies is necessary," and emphasized the need to pay attention to Deepnoid, VUNO, JLK, Curexo, DreamCIS, and CUBox.
