Heerim Architects & Planners once again secured the design rights for Apgujeong District 3 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, known as the "largest reconstruction project," after a rematch with Haean Architects.
According to Heerim Architects on the 11th, at the extraordinary general meeting held on the 9th at Apgujeong High School in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the Heerim Architects consortium won the design rights by obtaining 1,275 votes out of 2,285. The Haean Architects consortium received 907 votes.
The design proposal presented by Heerim under the name "The Apgujeong" features a Han River front view that prevents neighboring units from looking in, privacy guaranteed from basement level 1 to the entrance, and a luxury hotel-style lobby with concierge services.
Heerim also pledged to secure 1,084 units for general sale, aiming to increase the asset value to 1.75 billion KRW per union member household.
Heerim and Haean previously competed in July for the design contract of the Apgujeong District 3 reconstruction project. At that time, Heerim received more votes, but their design proposal exceeded the floor area ratio allowed by Seoul City (300%) by proposing 360% and did not include rental housing, which caused issues. Eventually, Seoul City filed a complaint with the police against Heerim on charges including attempted fraud, leading the union to cancel the selection and proceed with a re-tendering process.
