Seoul City announced on the 11th that it will hold the 'Seoul Isolated and Reclusive Youth Performance Sharing Event.' Mayor Oh Se-hoon will also attend the event to directly hear the sincere voices of the 'isolated and reclusive youth' participating in Seoul City's project. The youth attending will present their growth processes and impressions through the program, and parents of isolated and reclusive youth will also be present to share the difficulties they face as family members.

Manager who helps escape isolation on-site and baseball coach Lee Man-soo, who coaches the Recovery Baseball Team composed of reclusive youth, will also join to vividly share on-site episodes.

In particular, Mayor Oh showed great interest in isolated and reclusive youth by visiting Duderjip, an activity space for isolated youth located in Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, in April, where he had his first meeting with the youth participants and expressed his commitment to expanding policies.

On April 25 of this year, the city announced the nation's first comprehensive support measures for isolated and reclusive youth and has been actively supporting various recovery programs to reconnect isolated and reclusive youth?who feel isolated or spend their days disconnected from society without leaving their homes or rooms?with the world again.

A total of 1,119 isolated and reclusive youth voluntarily applied to participate in Seoul City's project this year. After scale tests and initial counseling, 557 individuals were classified by type and actually received program support. More than 40 customized specialized programs were provided 4,295 times, tailored to the depth and type of isolation and individual tendencies. In particular, the Recovery Baseball Team activities, youth space activities (such as Miracle Morning, Experience Zone, Team Building), and work experiences (internships, virtual companies) received great enthusiasm from the youth.

Meanwhile, the city plans to thoroughly analyze the success stories and improvement tasks of this year's project to upgrade next year's project both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Mayor Oh said, “Since the announcement of Seoul City's comprehensive measures for isolated and reclusive youth last April, I have been pleased to hear that many isolated and reclusive youth have regained vitality and gained opportunities to step out into the world again as these projects have been well implemented on the ground.” He added, “Seoul City will continue to support and encourage isolated and reclusive youth through various programs so that even one isolated and reclusive youth can have the will to be part of society and become independent.”
