On the 10th, the entire Jeju area experienced clear spring weather with daytime highs exceeding 20 degrees Celsius.
On this day, the highest temperatures recorded were 23.1 degrees in Jeju (Northern area), 22.4 degrees in Seogwipo (Southern area), 22.0 degrees in Gosan (Western area), and 21.9 degrees in Seongsan (Eastern area).
Seogwipo and Gosan recorded the highest December temperatures since weather observations began, Jeju ranked second highest ever, and Seongsan ranked third highest.
The previous highest December temperatures for Seogwipo and Gosan were 21.9 degrees (December 29, 1987) and 21.9 degrees (December 2, 2018), respectively.
An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "As the movement speed of the high-pressure system moving from northern China to the northeast slows down, warm southeast winds continuously flow in, and combined with solar radiation during the day, daytime temperatures rose significantly."
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that with rain falling in Jeju, the daytime temperature on the 11th will drop compared to this day.
On the 10th, with warm winter weather hovering around 20 degrees Celsius, many tourists and residents are enjoying "Earthing" by walking barefoot on the sandy beach at Iho Beach in Jeju.
