"Conscience-less Old-Style Politicians... Should Retire from Politics Rather Than Form a New Party"
On the 9th, the People Power Party criticized former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil, who was questioned by prosecutors the previous day regarding the 'party convention money envelope distribution suspicion,' for telling reporters that "the prosecution is playing to the media," saying, "His shameless attitude is testing the patience of the people."
Kim On-su, the full-time deputy spokesperson, said in a statement, "Song's claim that the investigation is media play reveals the typical arrogance of a '386 activist' politician who has forgotten reality."

Kim added, "His act of inciting the public without a proper explanation showed the behavior of an old-fashioned politician lacking even minimal conscience and responsibility," emphasizing, "Declaring retirement from politics would be a more desirable decision than founding a new party."
Regarding Song's comment that he does not agree that independent lawmaker Yoon Kwan-seok, who was indicted and detained over the money envelope incident, committed a serious crime, Kim criticized, "This is a distorted and deficient understanding of democracy and the rule of law," and said, "Instead of reflecting and apologizing, he continues to deceive the public."
Kim On-su also stated, "His irresponsible and unreflective attitude makes us ashamed that Song once led a major opposition party."
