Yoon Encourages Innovation Committee Activities at Luncheon
Interpreted as Effort to Mend Conflicts Within Ruling Party
On the 8th, President Yoon Suk-yeol had lunch with Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, and In Yo-han, chairman of the Innovation Committee, encouraging their activities so far.
According to the presidential office, President Yoon invited Kim and Chairman In to the Yongsan Presidential Office for lunch that day. Han Oh-seop, senior secretary for political affairs, and others from the presidential office also attended the lunch.
This was the first time President Yoon met Chairman In in person since the launch of the People Power Party Innovation Committee on October 26. It is known that President Yoon encouraged Chairman In's activities in the Innovation Committee.

President Yoon calling both Kim and Chairman In together is also interpreted as an effort to reconcile conflicts within the ruling party.
The People Power Party Innovation Committee was originally set to operate for 60 days until the 24th of this month, but declared the end of its activities the day before, after only 42 days since its launch.
At the full Innovation Committee meeting the day before, Chairman In stated, "From the public's perspective, we believe we have succeeded 50% in understanding what the people want," adding, "We will leave the remaining 50% to the party and wait longer."
In particular, Chairman In directed a pointed remark to Kim, saying, "Thank you," and "You gave me the opportunity to understand how tough politics is, and I have learned a lot from it."
