Imsil-gun Hosts 'Volunteer Conference' to Promote Volunteer Culture Expansion

Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 8th that it held the 18th Imsil-gun Volunteer Day Commemoration ‘Imsil-gun Volunteer Conference’ the previous day at Appenzell Hall in Imsil Cheese Theme Park.

Hosted by the Imsil-gun Volunteer Center (Director Kim Insook), this event was organized to recognize and encourage the contributions of volunteers who dedicated themselves to creating a happy Imsil with warm hands throughout the community via volunteer activities over the past year, and to promote the culture of volunteering.

Imsil-gun held the 18th Imsil-gun Volunteer Conference in celebration of Volunteer Day on the 7th at the Appenzell Hall of Imsil Cheese Theme Park.

The program proceeded in the order of a pre-ceremony congratulatory performance, viewing of volunteer activity videos from the year, an awards ceremony for outstanding volunteers, followed by the chairman’s address and congratulatory speeches.

About 180 volunteers attended, including Sim Min, the mayor of Imsil-gun, Lee Seongjae, chairman of the Imsil-gun Council, Park Jeonggyu, member of the Jeollabuk-do Provincial Assembly, and heads of various organizations and volunteer groups, who offered their congratulations and encouragement.

The mayor’s commendation for outstanding volunteers was awarded to Park Jeomsun and three others from the Korean Life Improvement Association Imsil-gun Federation, and the council chairman’s commendation went to Seol Gyesoon and one other from the Saemaul Undong Imsil-gun Branch.

The governor’s commendation for meritorious persons in the Jamboree regional linkage program at the Jeollabuk-do Volunteer Conference held on the 1st was also presented during the event.

Director Kim Insook said, “We thank the volunteers who have carried out acts of love and sharing throughout the year,” and added, “Next year, we will continue to make every effort to provide generous support and to spread a culture of participation for the residents and volunteers.”

Mayor Sim Min stated, “Thanks to the volunteers who shared their talents in various fields such as carbon neutrality movements for the community, wallpapering, and housing improvement, we were able to unite and become a pillar of a happy Imsil for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the Imsil-gun Volunteer Center is promoting activities such as the carbon neutrality practice campaign and plogging, the Hello Campaign including side dish and kimchi-making volunteer activities, and for boosting volunteer morale and ensuring safe volunteer work, it is implementing volunteer accident insurance enrollment, volunteer education, and family volunteer group activities.
