Kim Dong-yeon Attending the 'Gyeonggi Childcare Workers Conference': "You Must Be Happy for Children to Be Happy" 2023 Gyeonggi Childcare Workers Conference

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon visited the ‘2023 Gyeonggi Childcare Workers Conference’ held at Siheung City Indoor Gymnasium on the 8th to encourage childcare workers.

In his encouragement speech, Governor Kim said, "Since most of the communities where our children begin their social lives are daycare centers, childcare teachers are the first milestone and sunshine in children’s social lives," adding, "You must be happy for the children to be happy. We will do our best to support the work you do and work together to create the best childcare environment."

He also added, "Gyeonggi Province has designated this week as Care Week. We ask everyone to take an interest in and participate in the child care policy ‘Anytime Care,’ which ensures care for anyone, anytime, anywhere."

Hosted by the Gyeonggi Province Daycare Association, this event was organized to boost the morale of childcare workers by holding an awards ceremony for winners of the childcare program contest and those who have made significant contributions to childcare, as well as to encourage their hard work.

At this event, childcare staff, along with parent representatives, read a declaration for mutual respect of rights in child-centered childcare settings, affirming respect for the rights of childcare teachers.

Gyeonggi Province supports in-service training and capacity-building education for childcare staff, and strives to improve working conditions by providing treatment improvement funds, assistant teachers, and substitute teachers. To protect the rights and interests of childcare staff, a grievance handling office is operated, offering labor and psychological counseling support.
