On the 7th, the Health Center of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it was selected as an excellent institution at the '2023 Jeollanam-do Dementia Management Project Development Conference' and received a commendation from the governor.
The Jeollanam-do Dementia Management Project Development Conference was held to evaluate the excellence of dementia management projects carried out by 22 dementia safety centers in city and county health centers across the province.
Through this, the overall dementia management projects, including early dementia screening performance, dementia awareness improvement projects, and region-specific projects, are evaluated.
The county has focused on early detection of dementia through visiting dementia screening tests and has implemented a wide range of dementia management projects such as dementia prevention classes and dementia awareness improvement projects.
In February, a public-private cooperation agreement was signed with the College of Nursing at Chonnam National University to operate cognitive enhancement programs.
In particular, through the dementia-safe village private cooperation project, continuous efforts have been made to create a dementia-friendly environment by providing cultural performances, improving residential environments, and distributing safety supplies for dementia patients and local residents.
Lee Sang-ik, the county governor, said, “We will continue to build a systematic system by linking various resources in the local community and provide customized services to dementia elderly people in blind spots of care. We will do our best to make Hampyeong-gun a healthy 100-year-old community where all residents, including dementia patients, can live well.”
