Vellop's 'IcarusM' WEMIX Platform Remains Popular... "Multiple Game Releases Next Year"

Velop announced on the 7th that 'IcarusM: Guild War' continues to maintain its popularity, ranking high in the popularity charts on the WEMIX platform.

'IcarusM: Guild War' is a game developed by Wemade using the existing 'Icarus' IP and republished by Velop. It is a mobile MMORPG centered on large-scale battles in the sky and the Fellow system. After signing an onboarding agreement with the 'WEMIX' platform in July last year, it was developed to allow users to experience blockchain technology.

At launch, the token price surged significantly, and 'IcarusM: Guild War' has attracted much attention since the early stages of its service, with the number of concurrent users continuously increasing to date. Additionally, it maintains an upward trend by ranking 3rd in the popularity rankings of WEMIX onboarding games, following the 'Mir' series. Based on a well-structured P&E tokenomics, more than 1.3 million VEL tokens have been circulated so far. Even now, about 10,000 VEL tokens are produced and consumed daily. It is expected that the market capitalization of VEL could reach 1 billion KRW next year.

So far, Velop has launched a total of five games through the WEMIX platform. The game tokens circulating in connection with these games include RIA (Riders of Icarus), BLZ (Black Squad), WSC (N-Age), NCC (C9: Golden), and VEL (IcarusM: Guild War). Three games are scheduled to open next year: Atlantica, MU Legend, and Bless Unleashed. In addition, onboarding of other in-house games suitable for P&E is also under consideration.

A Velop representative stated, "Through opening and operating numerous blockchain-based games, we have accumulated considerable technology and know-how regarding token ecosystems (tokenomics), and we expect to demonstrate a successful model of blockchain-based games through NFT services." He added, "Blockchain-based games will become a major trend in the future game industry, and Velop will continue to invest in the development of blockchain-based games."
