On the 7th, the Lotte Cultural Foundation announced that the year-end concert featuring Chung Myung-whun and the One Korea Orchestra will be held on the 31st.

Chung Myung-whun has expressed special affection and respect for Beethoven, describing him as "a musician who fought for freedom throughout his life." Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, which will be performed at this concert, represents the message that conductor Chung conveys through the One Korea Orchestra.

Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 "Choral" is widely performed as a symbol of harmony and peace due to the lyrics "All men are brothers" in the fourth movement, "Ode to Joy." Chung Myung-whun also described this work by saying, "The message of this piece is brotherhood," and explained, "Through music, we can become one."

The stage will feature soprano Hwang Su-mi, mezzo-soprano Kim Sun-jung, tenor Kang Yo-sep, baritone Kang Hyung-gyu, the National Chorus, and the Anyang City Choir, delivering messages of comfort and hope to the audience.

The One Korea Orchestra was founded in 2017 with the motto "A Korea united through music," bringing together current and former members of domestic orchestras and Korean musicians active overseas. Starting with the inaugural performance for the first anniversary of the Lotte Concert Hall opening in its founding year, the orchestra has held regular concerts annually.
