This contest was held for the first time this year to create services that satisfy customers from their perspective, allowing participation from injured workers, their families, employers, medical institutions, and other customers of the Service.
Among more than 100 entries including experience essays, card news, and UCCs, the grand prize winner, Mr. Heo Jin-ho, was diagnosed with second-degree burns on his face and eyes and post-traumatic stress disorder due to a work accident in 2022.
He depicted in an essay the process of returning from a life trapped in darkness with vision loss and psychiatric treatment to the ordinary daily life before the accident through the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service’s social reintegration services. In his writing titled “Gratitude愛 Love愛 Happiness愛,” he shared his determination for rehabilitation and his efforts to return to a new workplace.
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service provides not only the best treatment and compensation but also various social reintegration services such as psychological counseling, employer support programs, and employment support services to help injured workers safely return to the workplace and society.
Director Park Jong-gil said, “We will continue to strive to serve as a reliable social safety net for workers so that injured workers can return to the workplace and society as soon as possible.”
