Asiana Airlines announced on the 7th that it received the 'Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award' at the 30th Corporate Innovation Awards. Park Su-sang, Executive Director of Asiana Airlines, attended the award ceremony held at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, and received the ministerial award.
The Corporate Innovation Awards are hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The awards recognize and reward companies that practice management and technological innovation as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. Established in 1994, ESG management evaluation indicators were added starting in 2021.
Despite the difficulties faced by the aviation industry due to COVID-19, Asiana Airlines received high praise for its efforts in ESG management and overcoming the crisis. The company established the industry's first dedicated ESG organization, reorganized its board of directors, and appointed female directors, actively promoting ESG management.
Executive Director Park said, “This award is a valuable result achieved through company-wide efforts to practice ESG management despite challenging circumstances. We will continue to strive to contribute to enhancing corporate value through social responsibility and ESG management.”
