Previously, since 2005, Osan City has continuously provided academic support funds to high school and university students every year. However, following the launch of the 8th civilian administration, the city has been promoting the "Hall of Fame Scholarship Project" with the aim of supporting youth with specialties in various fields.
In particular, designated donated funds are to be provided in a Men-to-Men format to academically outstanding scholarship students and those with remarkable talents in arts and sports. To honor the valuable intentions of the donors, a Hall of Fame has been established and is being operated in the city hall lobby.
Mayor Lee Gwon-jae said in his congratulatory speech, "I hope that the youth and young adults receiving scholarships will succeed in their respective fields and become strong supporters of the Hall of Fame Scholarship Project."
Meanwhile, in addition to the scholarship support project, the city is expanding support by securing 100 dormitory quotas in four scholarship dormitories, including Seoul, through an agreement with the Korea Private School Promotion Foundation Happy Dormitory Union for Osan-born students who commute from distant areas.
