According to major foreign media reports on the 6th (local time), an employee cleaning the enclosure at a zoo in Pakistan saw a tiger holding a shoe in its mouth and upon inspecting inside the enclosure, discovered the man's body.

The incident occurred at Sherbagh Zoo in Bahawalpur, Punjab province, eastern Pakistan. A Bahawalpur government official stated, "While the staff were cleaning the zoo and the tiger den, they saw a tiger holding a shoe in its mouth," adding, "When they looked inside the enclosure, a body was found."

The government official said, "It seems to be the act of a mad person. A sensible person would not jump into a tiger den." He continued, "This tiger den is safe. There are stairs behind the den, so he probably jumped up from there."

Rescue workers said, "The victim's legs were severely damaged," and added, "It is still unknown who he is or how he got there. The investigation is ongoing. The body appeared to have been there for several hours."

According to local Pakistani media, the man appears to have been attacked by four tigers. The zoo also stated that there are no missing staff members and considers the victim to be an outsider.

Meanwhile, tigers are carnivorous mammals belonging to the Felidae family. They generally live solitary lives, but when raising cubs, the family unit consists of the male, female, and their offspring. During the mating season, they emit distinctive moans and mate from late autumn to spring. Estrus is most commonly observed from November to February, during which males fiercely fight to claim females.

In the wild, their diet mainly consists of deer, mountain goats, wild boars, rabbits, field mice, and pheasants, and they also prey on reptiles. Their lifespan is about 15 years in the wild and approximately 20 years in captivity.
