The section to be opened first connects Jakchon-ri and Haewol-ri, spanning 1.85 km, and is a two-lane road with a width of 10.5 meters. The construction involved a total investment of 16.7 billion KRW, including 5 billion KRW from the national government and 11.7 billion KRW from the city government, and includes one ecological tunnel along the route.
This section is near Jisan Forest in Haewol-ri, where traffic congestion used to occur due to increased traffic volume on weekends and during peak tourist seasons. The city expects that this road network expansion will not only alleviate traffic inconvenience but also meet future transportation demand.
Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, stated, "We will continuously build safe and convenient road infrastructure to improve citizens' living environment and minimize residents' inconvenience."
