The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency became the first public institution in Gyeonggi-do to become a special member of the Korea Venture Capital Association (VC Association).

Accordingly, the agency plans to directly and indirectly participate in venture investment-related statistics, analysis data, and research during the formation and operation of the Gyeonggi-do G-Fund, and to enhance its own expertise by completing various training courses organized by the VC Association.

The VC Association will actively cooperate in promoting investment cooperation projects for small and medium venture companies in the province, such as venture investment roadshows (IR) hosted by the agency.

The VC Association was established in September 1989 and currently has 216 members including startup investment companies, new technology companies, investors, and special members. It carries out policy development and system improvement related to venture capital, research, education, and investment cooperation projects for small and medium venture companies.

Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, said, "We expect that joining the association will further strengthen the agency’s venture investment and fund management capabilities," and added, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that excellent growth opportunities are provided for small and medium venture companies in Gyeonggi-do, such as the formation of the '1 trillion won fund'."

Meanwhile, the agency is also preparing to register as an accelerator institution designated and operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups within this year.
