Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, instructed the deletion of the petition to expel former leader Lee Nak-yeon and decided not to accept disciplinary petitions against the so-called '5 pro-approval members.' Lee Won-wook, a Democratic Party lawmaker considered one of the '5 pro-approval members,' evaluated this by saying, "Some things seem to be changing a bit, but the root cause has not been resolved."
On the 7th, Lee said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "The deletion of the disciplinary petition against former leader Lee was something that had already been decided when the disciplinary petition against the so-called '5 pro-approval members' was made. It went through the party's petition board regulations, and it was decided that such petitions would not be allowed in the future. Therefore, it should have been deleted as soon as it was posted," he said.

The petition to expel former leader Lee was led by the Democratic Party's hardcore supporters known as 'Gaeddal (Daughters of Reform),' but the Democratic Party deleted this petition under the instruction of leader Lee. While there are expectations that this could lead to reconciliation between leader Lee and former leader Lee, the lawmaker pointed out that there is rather a lack of sincerity.
He said, "It could have been deleted immediately after it was posted. Everyone already knew about it. It was widely reported in the media. Why did the party leave it up for several days instead of deleting it immediately, allowing such opinions to circulate among party members and appear in the media? I rather suspect the party's intentions," he said.
Regarding whether former leader Lee would accept the reconciliation gesture extended by leader Lee, he evaluated, "It seems very likely to be just for photo opportunities," and said, "(Leader Lee extending his hand to former leader Lee) is a gesture."
Regarding rumors that leader Lee would meet with the '5 pro-approval members,' including Lee Won-wook, he said, "(I have) not received any contact at all," and questioned, "The term 'pro-approval members' itself does not hold. Can you even specify who the pro-approval members are?"
He added, "That is also a frame created by some pro-Lee members," and said, "At that time, there were quite a few stories that people who wanted to be the emergency committee chairman or floor leader, or those very close pro-Lee members who wanted to act as party leader or hold party authority, cast pro-approval votes."
