Comprehensive liquor company Ayang FBC announced on the 7th that its flagship product, 'Diablo,' will launch the 'Diablo Cheongryong Edition (Casillero del Diablo Blue Dragon Edition)' ahead of 2024.
The Diablo Cheongryong Edition is inspired by the image of the dragon, a traditional guardian deity of Korea, and the fact that 2024 is the year of the Blue Dragon, known as 'Gapjin Year (甲辰年).' The wine bottle design features traditional Korean patterns, with a background of dancheong patterns clearly depicting the Blue Dragon.
Known as the 'Devil's Wine,' Diablo is the flagship brand of the winery Concha Y Toro, which pioneered the premium wine market in Chile. It sells more than two bottles every second in 140 countries worldwide. In Korea, it has shown steady growth since its launch, with strong sales mainly in large supermarkets and convenience stores.
The Diablo Cheongryong Edition is made from selected grapes from the Central Valley, a renowned wine region in Chile. It boasts rich and intense aromas of cherry, plum, and black currant, followed by subtle notes of toast and coffee. The wine impresses with the flavors of ripe raspberries and plums, along with a refined and smooth tannin finish. It pairs well not only with steak and cheese but also with Korean dishes such as bulgogi, tteokgalbi, japchae, and jeon.
The Diablo Cheongryong Edition is available nationwide at major convenience stores, large supermarkets, department stores, Wine Nara direct stores, and the Wine Nara online mall for around 10,000 KRW.
