Kim Beom-su, founder of Kakao and head of the Future Initiative Center, will engage in a conversation with all employees for the first time in over two years. As the company faces its greatest crisis since its founding, including a prosecution investigation and internal whistleblowing over reckless management, he appears to be stepping in personally to manage the situation.
On the 6th, Kakao announced through an internal notice that Kim will hold a meeting with employees on the 11th at 2 p.m. on the 5th floor of Kakao Pangyo Ajit in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to discuss the company’s reform direction and other matters.
The meeting will be open to all employees, and anyone affiliated with Kakao headquarters can attend.
Kim is expected to directly answer employees’ questions to resolve various concerns that have been raised. This will be the first time in 2 years and 10 months that Kim has engaged in direct dialogue with employees since late February 2021, when he pledged to donate half of his wealth and discussed solutions to social issues with staff.
A Kakao official said, "We have notified the company internally and are currently collecting questions from employees who want to ask directly about the recent company situation."
