Recently, there has been growing interest in the government and public sectors in improving administrative work efficiency and digital innovation through the integration of generative AI technology. Upstage has agreed to collaborate to spread public safety and health information using its large language model (LLM) technology.
The MFDS will participate in Upstage's '1T (Trillion) Club' to provide high-quality food and drug data. The Upstage 1T Club is a project aimed at developing a high-performance Korean LLM by securing Korean language data tokens on the scale of one trillion.
Specifically, the two organizations will establish a cooperative framework for sharing and utilizing food and drug information and the latest private sector technologies, promote the development of Korean LLM models and the activation of the 1T project, implement security measures to prevent sensitive information leaks, and provide technical advice for the construction and activation of generative AI at the MFDS, thereby strengthening cooperation in various areas.
CTO Lee said, "I am pleased to discuss generative AI innovation in the public sector in partnership with the MFDS," adding, "Going forward, Upstage will take the lead in expanding the domestic AI ecosystem based on our technology that developed the world's best open-source LLM."
