To secure more special grant funds, the city visited the Ministry of the Interior and Safety several times, including a meeting with Vice Minister Gogi-dong, to explain the issues, and actively cooperated with ruling and opposition lawmakers, including Cho Su-jin, Supreme Council member of the People Power Party, achieving these results.

The road construction and infrastructure expansion project in the Ceramic Industrial Complex aims to revitalize the complex and create youth jobs by subdividing the Ceramic Industrial Complex into small plots, developing infrastructure, and converting them into public rental sale sites.

The road structure improvement project from the former police station to Yonghae District intersection targets a section located on school routes centered around four schools where frequent traffic congestion occurs. The project aims to improve safety for school routes and create a pleasant walking environment through structural improvements.

The sewage pipeline installation project around Geumjang Apartment in Seokhyeon-dong addresses frequent flooding during the rainy season, which causes inconvenience to citizens. The project aims to resolve flooding and prevent disasters by installing sewage pipelines.

The installation of access control blocking facilities at Samhyangcheon and Ipam main sewer is a project to install blocking facilities to prevent safety accidents for citizens using waterfront spaces during heavy rain and typhoons.

The installation of automatic entry blocking facilities at Okam underpass is a project to install disaster prevention facilities to prevent secondary accidents during emergencies on the road, such as the recent flooding accident at Osong underpass.

Mayor Park Hong-ryul stated, “With the securing of the special grant fund, we can proceed with necessary projects without delay,” and added, “We will secure financial support for Mokpo’s development and do our best for citizens’ convenience and safety.”

Meanwhile, including the 3.9 billion KRW special grant fund allocated in the first half of 2023 and the 3 billion KRW this time, the city has secured a total of 6.9 billion KRW annually, which can be used for important issue promotion.
