At the Donghaeng Festival, about 150 members of the security councils from 18 dongs attended and presented the public-private cooperation projects and outstanding activities they had promoted over the year through various performances such as plays, choir, vlog videos, and PPT presentations.

Additionally, to effectively convey the activities of the security councils, evaluate on-site responses, communication with the audience, active participation, and harmony among members, awards were given to four dongs: the Guardian Angel Award (300,000 KRW, Dongcheon-dong), the Donghaeng Award (200,000 KRW, Seochang-dong), and the Together Award (100,000 KRW, Sangmu 1-dong and Nongsung 1-dong).

In particular, Dongcheon-dong presented a play titled ‘Love in Dongcheon-dong School,’ depicting the welfare story of Book Village Dongcheon, and received high praise for its on-site response and creative presentation method, earning the Guardian Angel Award.

Furthermore, Seo-gu held a time for communication with the members alongside the competition to share the activities of the Dong Community Security Council over the past year.

Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, “To efficiently respond to the rapidly increasing welfare demands, public-private cooperation is most important,” and added, “I hope the Dong Community Security Council, which works closest to the residents, will continue to make greater efforts in the new year to create a warm Gwangju Seo-gu.”
